Missouri AFL-CIO to host 10th Annual Working Women’s Lobby Day scheduled for March 11

Jefferson City – In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, the Missouri AFL-CIO is hosting a Missouri Working Women’s Lobby Day on Wednesday, March 11 at the Missouri State Capitol.
The 10th annual event, which is open to all union members, will run from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. The day will begin at Bone’s Banquet Center at 210 Commercial Ave. in Jefferson City where participants will be served a continental breakfast and discuss the issues facing Missouri working women
Afterward, union members will walk the halls of the State Capitol and talk with state senators and representatives about what matters to Missouri’s working women. Women are encouraged to wear union-logoed attire.
“We must make our voices heard in Jefferson City, especially with everything going on right now,” the Federation posted on social media. “It’s a good idea to contact your state representatives and senators in advance to set up appointments. This way, you’ll have their full attention to discuss what’s on your mind.”
For St. Louis participants, a bus will leave the IBEW Local 1 union hall at 5850 Elizabeth Ave. in St. Louis at 7 a.m. to head to Jefferson City. It will arrive back at IBEW 1 at approximately 4 p.m.
